An OTF karambit puts a curved, talon-style blade into an out-the-front mechanism with a finger ring at the back of the handle. It is a niche within a niche, and the search demand for "otf karambit" is far larger than the number of models made, which is why there are only three in stock here. This is a short list, ranked by orders, followed by what actually matters when choosing one. All three are on the OTF knives collection.

The best OTF karambit knives
1. Shadow Ring Control Karambit OTF Knife - Midnight Black
The best-selling OTF karambit. Talon blade, rubberized black handle with finger ring, about $56. The blade exits from the bottom of the handle so the curve points the right way when held by the ring.
The talon blade is a curved, karambit-style edge on the inside of the curve. It hooks and pulls through cord, strapping and cardboard, and is less useful for slicing or point work.
The rubberized handle gives grip texture the alloy models do not have, at a small cost in weight. Buyers who use the knife with gloves or wet hands pick these.

3. Talon Flow ArchAngel Out-the-Front Karambit - Carbon Fiber
The carbon fiber version of the ArchAngel, about $56. Lightest of the three.
The talon blade is a curved, karambit-style edge on the inside of the curve. It hooks and pulls through cord, strapping and cardboard, and is less useful for slicing or point work.
The carbon fiber handle is the light option and shows texture under a clear coat; it does not change the mechanism, only the weight and grip.

What makes an OTF karambit different
On a conventional karambit the blade is fixed or folds, and the ring goes on the index or little finger so the curve follows the hand. An OTF karambit has to fire the blade out of the handle, so the blade exits from the end opposite the ring. In practice that means the slide is on the side of the handle and the blade appears below the fist when the ring is worn, which is the reverse of a normal OTF. Expect a short learning curve.
The talon blade is a curved profile with the edge on the inside of the curve. It is a hooking and pulling cutter, good for cord, strapping and cardboard, and less useful for slicing or point work than a spear or drop point.
Rubberized or carbon fiber
The rubberized ArchAngel and Shadow Arc have the most-ordered handle; the texture matters more on a ring-handle knife because the ring, not the grip, holds the knife. The Talon Flow in carbon fiber is lighter and the one to pick if weight on a belt or in a bag is the concern. All three are the same mechanism and price.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best OTF karambit?
The ArchAngel bottom-fire karambit in midnight black by orders. The three in stock are the same design in different handle finishes.
Are OTF karambit knives double action?
The models in stock are listed as automatic OTF; check the individual product page for the current mechanism note before ordering.
Why are there so few OTF karambits?
The curved blade has to travel straight through a front opening, which limits how much curve the blade can have and makes the mechanism harder to build. Few factories make them.
